Here I am at 71 starting something new! What? Am I crazy?
Well, I hope not. NO! I know I'm not crazy, and since I am at home, retired with 'nothing to do' but sit at the computer all day long I think I'll take a stab at it.

Actually, my life is (has been and still is) very interesting, and perhaps you'll be blessed by hanging around just a bit. But we'll save that for next time.

  2. I was sharing with a good friend earlier today about the necessity of living by the Spirit every day. Both of us have had some hard to take things happen in the last few months, and the way I have handled the times when complaining is very easy is to be reminded of some particular promise of God's goodness, not just a Bible verse pulled out of nowhere, but something that has been sealed to my own spirit (or my friend's) in a particular way. As I rehearse this particular thing, and give thanks, it seems that the cloud is lifted.

One thing that has been very difficult not only to me but also to thousands of others in the midlands of South Carolina in the last few days has been the continued cold, along with snow and ice. I thought nothing of battling those elements in Maine, but here?

How this applies to the above principle is that I/we (my wife and I both) are not able to get in the car as easily as before and 'escape' this little box (mobile home) we call home, and the confinement is difficult.

Reverting to the giving of thanks for little things goes a long way to lifting the spirits and making us endure this very, very little hardship.

God is continually good, and as we make an effort to tap the 'spirit' aspect of our being on a daily basis we are able to apprehend that goodness on a practical level.
